PRESENT CONTINUOUS (I AM DOING)

Rules 1 We use the Present Continuous when we talk about something
that is happeningat the time of speaking.

exp:- Hello, Wira. Are you enjoying the party?


Rules 2 We use the Present Continuous when we talk about something
that is happening around the time of speaking but not necessary
exactly at the time of speaking.

Exp:- Wira is studying at a British Council.


Rules 3 We often use the Present Continuous when we talk about a period
around the present.
For example: This Week, Today, This Season

Exp:- You are working hard today. "Yes, I have a lot to do."


Rules 4 We use the Present Continuous when we talk about changing situations.

The population of the word is rising very fast.

SIMPLE PRESENT ( I DO)

Rules 1 We use the Simple Present to talk about things in general.We use it
to say that something happens all the time or repeatedly, or that something
is true in general.

Exp:- I work in a bank. Wira works in a department store.


Rules 2 We use do/does to make questions and negative sentences.

Do I/We/you/they work / I/We/You/They don't work

Does she/he/it work / She/He/It doesn't work.


Rules 3 We use the simple present when we say how often we do things.

In the summer, Wira usually plays badminton twice a week


Rules 4 Note that we say "Where do you come from?" (= "Where are you from?")

Exp:- Where do you come from? (Not "Where are you coming from?")
